Our community is a reflection of our ethics, principals, character and beliefs. The family is the cornerstone of the community. Improvement requires change. Planning is essential to improvement. Our community is dependent upon the participation of our people. Sharing knowledge increases knowledge. All students can learn. Learning is a ongoing process. Education is essential to the development of the productive individuals. |
Process of Developing the District Comprehensive Improvement Plan
District school leaders participated in the Owen 20/20 project. This project brought together the dreams and hopes of over 2,200 persons who live in the county. One comment for this project is to strengthen the commitment to and support for educational excellence. The findings and concerns of this project are reflected in the district action plans.
District staff attends building level PLC meetings to gain insight to the schools needs. The SCIP are developed from the PLC meetings. The District Improvement Plan Committee looks at the needs in the SCIP’s to determine what the priority needs should be for the district. The District Improvement Plan Committee that provided input and helped determined priority needs are:

The needs of the schools and the district were determined by analyzing the following data:
School needs assessment data for school plans, were done in the fall after the KCCT assessment data was available. Data review is a ongoing process and drives both decision making and instruction.
