Job Corps: Job Corps is a career training and education program for students ages 16 through 24 who meet low-income requirements.  It is designed to help students find the path to personal and career success and all at no cost to eligible students.  If you are not ready to start college after high school graduation or are struggling in the traditional high school environment, Job Corps may be the solution.  To learn more about Job Corps visit their website at  or call (800) 733-5627.  You can also stop by the Guidance Office for a brochure. 

Drug Prevention: The Kentucky Office of Drug control Policy and the Kentucky Agency for Substance Abuse, in affiliation with The Partnership at, has a helpline dedicated to helping parents and families speak to a qualified social worker about their child's drug use or drinking. Washington Youth Tour Opportunity February 3, 2023 N/A High School Juniors whose primary residence is in the Owen Electric service territory.  This is a FREE opportunity to visit Washington DC and learn about our country's history! The Youth Tour is a week-long event in June (KY students visit is June 12-17) during which high school juniors from across the country travel to Washington DC to learn more about government, cooperative, and electrification.

All "A" Classic Scholarship Foundation February 24, 2023 $1,000 (20 awards) Senior students planning to attend any post-secondary institution preferably within the state of Kentucky.  This includes public and private colleges/universities, community colleges, and vocational & technical schools.  Funds will be disbursed directly to students upon proof of enrollment.

Kentucky Federation of Republican Women 2023 Scholarship Program April 3, 2023 $1,500 Granted to a college-bound high school senior girl who has been politically active within the Republican Party.  The qualified applicant will graduate from a Kentucky high school in 2023, or or will be a registered Republican, and plans to enroll at an accredited college or university in Kentucky.

Kentucky Concrete Association now accepting essay submissions for the annual William T. Robertson High School Essay Scholarship November 26, 2022 $2,000

Scholarship to be paid to the college or university of your choice in your freshmen semester and you will also be invited to attend the 2023 KCA Winter Convention to accept the award.

Horatio Alger Association Career and Technical Scholarship Program   $2,500 Be pursuing a postsecondary education at a community college or technical school in the Fall,  must be Pell Grant eligible.

Kentucky Right to Life Scholarship    $1,000 Applicant must be a senior graduating from high school and applied/ been accepted to a two or four year institution and demonstrated dedicated pro-life activity and attitudes during his or her high school years and a commitment to a continued involvement in pro-life activities.

Jack Aynes Scholarship    $1,000 Seniors who have a parent, step parent, grandparent or step grandparent who are members of the Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame. Also must have an ACT score minimum of 20.

Charles E. Wilson Memorial Scholarship    $500.00 Must be enrolled in a recognized horticulture or related program at any college, university or community college of their choice.

Heisman HS Scholarship October 18, 2022 Scholarships range from $500- $5,000 Senior Scholar -Athletes with High Character

Design a Better Future   5-$10,000 tuition awards Design and work on a community improvement project.
USDA 1890s Scholars Program    full tuition, fees, books, room and board and a summer internship which may convert to full-time employment with USDA after graduation.  Must be accepted to one of the nineteen 1890 Land Grant Universities, have a 3.0 GPA, study ag, food, natural resources, or other related disciplines, demonstrate leadership and community service. Currently Kentucky State University is the only school in KY that qualifies as a Land Grant University.

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program   $10,000-$40,000

To be eligible for this award, applicants must:

  • demonstrate at school, at the workplace, and within the community the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship;
  • demonstrate strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 grade point average/4.0 scale or equivalent);
  • be citizens of the United States of America;
  • be current high school seniors attending high school in the United States (students living on U.S. Armed Forces base and homeschooled students are also eligible); and
  • plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study toward a bachelor’s degree at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year.

Semifinalists will be required to provide a recommendation from a community leader, such as a high school principal, elected official or executive director of a nonprofit organization, and must provide documentation to certify academic performance and financial need. KY Ag Athletes of the Year  December 31, 2022

6 Awards:

4 - $1,000 awards (2 male athletes and 2 female athletes)

2 - $2,000 awards (1 male overall winner and 1 female overall winner)

  • High school graduating senior
  • Must be a Kentucky farmer or involved in agriculture
  • Participate in one or more KHSAA sports or sport activities during the 2022-2023 school year
  • Minimum GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale, if weighted, GPA must be converted to 4.0 scale by counselor)
  • Accepted to a higher education 2 year, 4 year or trade school institution (Though an Agriculture major is not required and preference will be given to Kentucky colleges. However, out of state schools will be considered if seeking specialized degree in the Agriculture field)

Holiday for Heroes   $2,000-$5,000 Graduating Senior who is a child of a Firefighter, or who is a child of a military service person, or who is a child of a Peace Officer. You may also be a senior who shows exemplary selfless attitude towards their school, community, and country.

The selection of winners begins at the local Lodge level and continues through district, State and national judging.

February 1, 2023 Civil Engineering and Construction Management scholarships can receive up to $59,200 (before taxes).

Civil Engineering Technology scholarship can receive up to 
$12,000 (before taxes).

Students must attend UK, UL, or WKU, for Civil Engineering.

NKU, EKU, WKU, Morehead State, or Murray State for Construction Management.

Carroll County Training Consortium Scholarship March 15, 2023 Up to Full Tuition to JCTC

Culinary Scholarships (See Below)

There are several organizations that offer scholarships for culinary school. The James Beard Foundation makes dozens of scholarships available for study at institutions around the world, some for full-time study and some for cooking demonstration seminars. Awards are based on financial need and aptitude.
