Transition to Remote Learning
On Wednesday, November 18, 2020, Governor Beshear announced he is closing school buildings, under executive order, effective Monday, November 23rd, until January 4, 2021 for middle and high school students and until December 7, 2020 for elementary (possibly longer if the county is still in the red status). As we receive more details, we will provide additional updates. Thank you.
Inclement Weather and Emergency Days
As we approach the winter months, there will be times when Owen County Schools will need to be closed due to the weather or other emergency situations. Please review the protocols below that we are asking everyone to follow.
Preschool Screening rescheduled for January 15th

Elementary Remote Learners
The Elementary School is scheduling evening appointments for remote students to come in and complete their MAP test. Parents please fill out the online form to reserve your student's testing spot.
Return to School Meal Service
Owen County Schools is excited to be welcoming student back on campus on October 12th! All students, whether Traditional (in-person) or Remote (at home), will have access to a free breakfast and lunch every school day.
Traditional Learning students, will be provided breakfast and lunch every day while at school. Breakfast will be a sacked lunch containing a pastry and a juice. Lunch will be a hot meal every day and will be served to students in a closed take out container. Milk will be included with both breakfast and lunch.
Traditional Learners at the Maurice Bowling Middle School and the Owen County High School will be provided a meal bag containing meals for the two remote days every Tuesday afternoon as the leave the building. Please encourage your child to participate by taking a meal bag. You won't be disappointed. 😋
REMOTE LEARNERS enrolled in the Lower Elementary and the Middle School can pickup weekly meal bags, at the Middle School, every Monday beginning October 12th from Noon until 2 Pm.
REMOTE LEARNERS enrolled in the Upper Elementary and the High School can pickup weekly meal bags, at the High School, every Monday beginning October 12th from Noon until 2 PM.
